The coordinate system for the original map is not changed. Wgs 1984 major auxiliary sphere is the datum for the wgs 1984 web mercator (auxiliary sphere) coordinate system used by the arcgis online /google maps/bing maps tiling scheme. Scroll down and click wgs 1984 web mercator, then click ok.
When they're displayed in google earth, they don't line up correctly (see attached).

Wgs 1984 web mercator and wgs 1984 web mercator (auxiliary sphere) use a conformal projection that preserves direction and the shape of data but distorts distance and area. Will be in arcgis 9.3 with esri id 102113. When they're displayed in google earth, they don't line up correctly (see attached).
